What to expect:
We head off before sunset for an easy 30 minute Snowshoe walk (450m) through the picturesque snow gums to the eco-village where you’ll enjoy a delicious heart-warming glass of Glühwein or hot chocolate outside by the fire. You will then be invited into the central tipi with a fireplace, where you will learn the secrets to making a traditional and mouth-watering French fondue, with cheese imported for the occasion from French Alpine farms.
We are also able to offer optional alternative meals for our overnight guests that prefer a French inspired home made meal instead of the Fondue. Please note that this is a replacement meal from our main offering for your entire group (mini 2pp). We are unable to do individual replacements other than for food allergies.
After a 3 course dinner we will sit around the fire sharing a few drinks and stories (maybe even some dancing).
Wave the rest of the group goodbye and settle in your Hypedome! A highly sought-after exclusive experience, with only three domes available, serenity is guaranteed in this pristine alpine setting. Admire views over Dargo valley and a striking colour palette courtesy of the Snowgum forest. Hypedomes are perfect for a romantic escapade, a getaway among friends and family* or a guaranteed memory making trip for any special occasion.
The Hypedomes are composed of a seamless blend of transparent and reflective hexagonal panels which provide full privacy through clever angle orientation while also delivering uninterrupted views to the sky and the snowy wonderland outside.
Each Hypedome is equipped with a comfortable double bed with ample linen to keep you cosy (-8° sleeping bags and blankets), a double trundle bed, a sink with drinking water, LED lighting, charger cable to stay connected, and most important for a cosy snow experience: an indoor fireplace to make your dome toasty for when you eventually drag yourself away from the delicious French- Alps inspired dinner (included in the experience), fine wines, craft beers and French liqueurs in the central tipi.
Outdoor Hot-tub Experience for 2 people
Add an extra touch of luxury and finish your stay on a high in Australia’s highest wood fired hot tub. Relax soaking up in your own private hot bath, surrounded by snow and with breathtaking views on the Dargo Valley and Alpine wilderness. Then enjoy a private scenic skidoo tour (optional) back to Wireplain.

We currently have three Hypedomes all with the same level of comfort and identical facilities.
Our Hypedomes sleep up to four people but are more comfortable with two. They have one double bed and a double trundle. Sleeping bags can be joint or separated.
At the Eco-Village:
Our eco-village is set-up in the wilderness of Hotham. Everything is carried in and out by man power to reduce our impact on the fragile alpine environment. We are completely off the grid, but for your comfort the eco-village are able to offer the following services:

Our menu is fully vegetarian. Please note, due to the nature of the experience, only vegan and gluten free dietary requirements are available on request, at an extra cost. Make sure you specify this when booking. For the same reasons we are unable to provide a different menu for children.

We always aim to deliver the full Alpine Nature Experience, including the skidoo ride. But sometimes Mother Nature has other plans, and limited snow can mean we’re unable to safely run that part of the experience. If this happens you will get a full refund for that part of the experience.
